At the Housing Development Corporation of Hampton Roads (HDCofHR), we believe that everyone deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.

Since 2005, we have been dedicated to transforming lives and communities by providing quality, affordable rental housing opportunities to those who need them most—low-income individuals and families, the homeless, and persons with disabilities.

Our Mission

To provide quality, affordable, rental housing opportunities in safe neighborhoods on the Virginia Peninsula, to low-income individuals and families, the homeless, and the disabled.

Our Vision

To be a visible, proactive advocate of quality, affordable housing in order to end homelessness in the cities HDCofHR serves.

Furthering the Mission

Our work is made possible through partnerships, community support, and ongoing funding from both public and private sources.
HDCofHR actively seeks:

Grant funding from government agencies, public and private foundations, and other resources providing assistance with housing
Support from area faith congregations, local businesses, and civic organizations
Donations from individuals, designations via the United Way Campaign, and contributions via planned giving directives

Every dollar we receive helps us acquire, rehabilitate, and restore homes—turning vacant properties into safe, welcoming spaces for families to thrive.
Together with our partners and supporters, we continue to restore hope, and strengthen the Hampton Roads community, one family at a time.
